Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, has expressed deep sadness and a profound sense of personal loss over the death of Chief Bashiru Etamesor, the Onogie of Iyamho Community in Edo State.
In a condolence message made available to journalists through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Victor Oshioke, the former Edo State Governor described the late traditional ruler as not only a revered monarch but also a trusted confidant, loyal supporter and close family relation whose passing has left a huge vacuum.
Oshiomhole said the death of Chief Etamesor “hits home hard,” noting that the late royal father, who was also his cousin, stood firmly by him through different phases of life and public service. He described the deceased as a principled leader who devoted his life to the service of his people and upheld the virtues of justice, fairness and peace at all times.
According to the senator, the reign of the late Onogie witnessed remarkable growth, unity and development in Iyamho Community, while his wisdom and leadership earned him widespread respect among traditional institutions and chiefs across Uzairue Kingdom.
He further noted that Chief Etamesor’s legacy of integrity, courage and commitment to community development would remain indelible in the hearts of his people.
Oshiomhole extended his heartfelt condolences to the Etamesor Royal Family, the people of Iyamho Community and the entire Uzairue clan over the painful loss. He prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the late monarch’s shortcomings and grants him Aljannah Firdaus.
