The Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, has expressed profound appreciation to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Edo North for the peaceful, orderly and successful conduct of the party’s primary elections held to nominate candidates for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
In a message of appreciation made available to party faithful and supporters, through his Chief of Staff, Hon Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole said he was highly impressed by the massive turnout of APC members across the 64 wards in Edo North and the dignified manner in which party members freely exercised their democratic rights in choosing candidates to fly the party’s flag in the elections ahead.
He commended party members for demonstrating maturity, discipline and commitment to the ideals of internal democracy by abiding strictly with the rules and guidelines established by the party for the conduct of the exercise.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere that characterised the primaries has further confirmed the unity, strength and political sophistication of APC members in Edo North.
While congratulating all candidates who emerged victorious at the primaries, Oshiomhole also extended special appreciation to aspirants who did not emerge successful, noting that their acceptance of the outcome in good faith was a demonstration of true statesmanship and loyalty to the party.
He reminded party members that politics is a continuous process in which patience, perseverance and consistency often yield rewarding outcomes, adding that experience has shown that the loser today can become the winner tomorrow.
The former National Chairman of the APC urged members to close ranks and continue to work together as one united political family in preparation for the tasks ahead.
Oshiomhole stated that the essence of the primary elections was to present candidates best suited to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the State Houses of Assembly to the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Presidency.
He expressed confidence that the quality of candidates produced through the exercise in Edo North has positioned the APC strongly to defeat opposition parties in the coming elections.
He concluded by calling on APC members across the country to remain united and use the period before the elections to consolidate on the gains already recorded by the administration, while convincing Nigerians that there remains no better alternative than President Tinubu and the APC in the collective effort to build a nation that meets the aspirations of all Nigerians at home and abroad.
