Eid el-Kabir Message from Senator Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and current Senator representing Edo North, has extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and the world as they celebrate the Eid el Kabir festival.

In a Sallah message delivered through his Chief of Staff, Hon. Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole called on Muslims to reflect deeply on the festival’s core values of obedience, sacrifice, and faith, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to submit to the will of Almighty Allah.

“The celebration of Eid el Kabir does not end with festivities,” he said, “but a divine reminder of the virtues of uprightness, patience, and unwavering faith in God.” He added that these virtues should guide every believer, especially in a time when societal challenges threaten to erode moral values.

Oshiomhole urged Nigerians to use the season to renew their spiritual commitment and embrace the teachings of love and compassion. He emphasized that despite economic and social difficulties across the world, our own nation must stand united, pray for divine intervention, and forge ahead with hope and determination.

He lamented the growing abandonment of religious teachings and dwindling sense of communal responsibility, saying, “With each generation, we seem to drift further from being our brothers’ keepers.” He described the Eid season as an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to piety, selflessness, and service to humanity.

“As we celebrate,” Oshiomhole concluded, “may Almighty Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices, and bless our families with peace, happiness, and prosperity. Let us carry forward the spirit of this season throughout the year. Happy Eid el Kabir!”
