Horticulture Best Practices Training Empowers 110 Farmers in Edo North

As part of his 2025 community projects, Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole spearheaded a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity through a specialized training program on Horticulture Best Practices. This capacity-building effort reached 110 carefully selected farmers across the six local government areas of Edo North Senatorial District.

The training focused on modern horticultural techniques, sustainable crop management, pest control, and market access strategies. By providing hands-on knowledge and technical tools, the initiative is expected to significantly increase yield, reduce post-harvest losses, and open new income streams for smallholder farmers.

The project also included empowerment packages to help participants kick-start or scale their farming operations. These packages featured improved seedlings, basic tools, and access to agronomic advisory services.

Senator Oshiomhole emphasized that the future of food security in Edo North depends on equipping farmers with the right skills and support systems. His continued commitment to grassroots development reflects a broader vision to reduce poverty, strengthen food systems, and improve livelihoods across the region.
