Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the mother of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, describing her death as a painful loss not only to the Idahosa family but to the wider Edo State as a community.
In a condolence message, he personally signed, Oshiomhole said he received the news of the death of Madam Esther Imaguimwanruo Idahosa (née Enabulele) with profound sadness, noting that she lived a fulfilled and impactful life worthy of emulation.
According to him, the late matriarch was a respected community leader and a devout Christian who demonstrated her faith through a life of piety, service, and dedication to humanity. He commended her role in raising her children with discipline, humility, and the fear of God, values he said are evident in their conduct and public service.
Oshiomhole further observed that her long and healthy life, which afforded her the opportunity to witness her son rise to the position of Deputy Governor, was a testament to God’s grace and her enduring legacy of good works.
The senator also acknowledged the close bond between Idahosa and his late mother, stating that the loss of a mother creates a vacuum that is difficult to fill. He urged the Deputy Governor to find comfort in the cherished memories they shared and in the Christian hope of eternal reunion.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Edo North, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Idahosa and Enabulele families, as well as the people of Edo State for this great loss” Oshiomhole said, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
