Currently representing Edo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, he is a prominent voice in national politics and a tireless advocate for the people of Edo State and Nigeria.
Roots That Run Deep
Born on April 4, 1952, in Iyamho, Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole’s early life was marked by modesty, hard work, and a strong sense of justice. After his primary and secondary education, he pursued further training in industrial relations and labour studies both in Nigeria and overseas, including at the Ruskin College, Oxford in the United Kingdom. These formative experiences laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to social justice and the upliftment of workers and ordinary Nigerians.

From Labour Leader to Lawmaker
Oshiomhole rose to national prominence as President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) from 1999 to 2007, where he led groundbreaking negotiations and protests against anti-people policies. His fearless leadership earned him public admiration and national credibility.
In 2008, he transitioned to governance as the Executive Governor of Edo State, serving two terms until 2016. Under his administration, Edo witnessed transformative projects in education, infrastructure, urban renewal, and civil service reform. His tenure was widely regarded as a blueprint for effective governance.
Following his governorship, Oshiomhole served as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2018 to 2020, playing a pivotal role in national political strategy and party cohesion. In 2023, he was elected as Senator representing Edo North, returning to public office to continue his service to the nation.
